All the Ford licensed Mercon LV fluids I found other than Motorcraft are also licensed by GM for Dexron VI (dual licensed). Valvoline Maxlife LV is not a Ford licensed Mercon LV fluid but says if you have problems with it to contact them.

Originally, I planned to get Mercon LV from Advance Auto parts, but they did not have any in stock, so I got Peak Full Synthetic Multi-vehicle (ATF) Automatic Transmission Fluid recommemded by them. It's said on the bottle that it is certified by Ford . and I would like to know what ATFs are compatible with the LV recommendation from Ford. Is the Mercon LV syn from the factory? For some reason I believe so. And if so, I suppose I would just go with whatever is least expensive on the market. I have found out that AMSoil makes one as does Mobil 1.
